Our Story

Le Groupe Nos Enfants (GNE) is a Rwandan organization established in 1999 in the context of national reconstruction following the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi. For more than two decades, GNE has been developing sustainable responses to challenges related to children's vulnerability, youth unemployment, and the economic fragility of families. At a time when social, educational, and family systems were deeply fractured, the organization made a clear strategic choice: invest in human capital as the cornerstone of long-term recovery and social cohesion.

Initially focused on access to education for children from vulnerable families, GNE has gradually evolved toward an integrated approach to human development, combining child protection, youth empowerment (education, entrepreneurship), and socio-economic inclusion for vulnerable families. Throughout its journey, hundreds of young people have transitioned from vulnerability to active socio-economic status, while GNE continues to leverage human capital to drive inclusive and sustainable development in Rwanda.

Integrated Protection & Holistic Well-being of Children

To sustainably strengthen child protection systems by developing integrated approaches that ensure safety, physical and mental well-being, as well as the socio-emotional and economic development of vulnerable children and adolescents, particularly those exposed to violence, exclusion, and multiple risks.

Equitable Access to Inclusive and Transformative Education

To ensure inclusive, safe, and quality access to education for marginalized children and youth, while improving learning outcomes, life skills, and employability, with a view to their full participation in socio-economic development.

To promote youth empowerment and community civic engagement by strengthening their capacity to co-create sustainable solutions, foster social cohesion, protect the environment, and enhance collective resilience to contemporary challenges.
